Ok all you wankers! Want a fun filled afternoon with amazing people and good beer on a nice sunny 70 deg day? Then, DCH4 is the place to be this Sat.
 

Start: Rosemary Hill Local Park (2450 Lyttonsville Rd. Silver Spring, MD). Park near Tennis and Basketball courts.

Time: 4/6/19 @ 3pm

Hares: Ass Spelunker and Late Nite Drive Thru
Cost: $6
Details: Trail will be A-A. Dog friendly, tough stroller friendly. I don’t think they’re any water crossings, but you’re Hasher’s, you should always have dry shoes and clothes on hand.
On After: Silver Branch Brewery (8401 Colesville Rd. #150, Silver Spring, MD)
On After Details: The brewery has only been open one month. They don’t have any food though (unless you count $5 all you can eat popcorn as food). However, they allow takeout. This is in Downtown Silver Spring. There’s a McDonald’s next door along with many Pizza places you can order from. There’s also outdoor seating so your furry friends can join in on the fun. And did I mention….IT’LL BE 70 DEG SAT!!!

DCH4 Trail for 3/30 – 10(?) Annual Burning of the Christmas Tree trail!

Hares: Tour duh Whore and Pay Per View (we could always use a volunteer hare, too)…

Directions:

Driving: I495 to Van Dorn Street Exit. Head South on Van Dorn Street. Take a Left of Franconia Road, Edison HS will be on your right.

Metro: Take Blue Line to Van Dorn Street. Walk, Uber or Bus to Van Dorn Street and Franconia Road (Check Fairfax Connector Bus schedules for bus 109 or 322).

Deets: We’re burning shit!! Including your Xmas trees! Food will be provided. A to B trail. Bag vehicle provided at start. There will be lots of food and beer. There will be walkers and runner trails. Trails will be dog and stroller friendly. On After is also dog friendly as long as dogs are kept outside.

DCH4 Trail Announcement 3-23-19

What: DCH4 Trail #2048; A to A’; runner and walker trails; dog-friendly but not stroller friendly

When: Saturday, March 23, 2019; 3pm

Cost: $6

Where: Start is at 10700 Columbia Pike (Rte 29; aka Colesville Road), at Burnt Mills West Special Park

From DC Beltway, cumming from the West: From I-495, take exit 30A, to merge onto US-29N/Colesville Road toward Columbia.  Go north for 1.5 miles to bottom of hill, and immediately after crossing the bridge for the Northwest Branch, with a dam to your left, turn left into the parking lot near the dam. Park and Hash. (parking is also available across the street at 10701 Columbia Pike, at Burnt Mills East Special Park) If you see the Trader Joe’s on your right, you have gone 100 yards too far.  FYI: When you cross the bridge, Colesville Rd becomes Columbia Pike—they are all Rte. 29.

From DC Beltway, cumming from the East: From I-495, take exit 29 for MD-193W (north)/University Blvd to Wheaton. After 0.5 miles, turn right at the third light on Colesville Road/Rte. 29, go 0.9 miles to bottom of hill, and immediately after crossing the bridge for the Northwest Branch, with a dam to your left, turn left into the parking lot near the dam. Park and Hash. (parking is also available across the street at 10701 Columbia Pike, at Burnt Mills East Special Park) If you see the Trader Joe’s on your right, you have gone 100 yards too far.

From the north, proceed south on Rte. 29 (you can take Rte. 200/Inter-county Connector to Rte 29). From the intersection with Rte. 200 (ICC), go south on Rte. 29/Columbia Pike for 4 miles. Just after you see the Trader Joe’s on your left, make a right into the parking lot just before the bridge. Park and hash. (parking is also available across the street at 10701 Columbia Pike, at Burnt Mills East Special Park)

What: DCH4 Trail #2045. “The Big Easy”
Wear your Mardi Gras/New Orleans finest for an A to A trail laid by one of your easiest hares 😉 Dog friendly trail and on in. A single trail with some run/walk splits. Tough-stroller friendly (will be muddy with mild shiggy in places). Given the weather forecast, everyone should bring a dry bag.

When: Saturday, March 2 at 3pm

How much? $6

Where: 8400 Briar Creek Dr, Annandale, VA. It’s a neighborhood so there’s plenty of street parking.

From the North (MoCo, etc.): Take 495 outer loop towards VA. Exit 52A (VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike). Keep right at the fork to merge onto Little River Turnpike. In about 0.25 miles, turn left onto Duncan Dr. In 1/3 mile turn right onto Holborn Ave. Follow for 0.5 mile to the intersection of Briar Creek Dr and find a place to park.

From Alexandria and points South: Take 495 inner loop north. Exit 52A (VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike) to merge onto Little River Turnpike. What: DCH4 Trail #2044; A to A, Runners and Walkers trails, probably will not be stroller friendly; walkers will not have to step in water, not sure yet about runners trail–but everyone should bring a dry bag, as there is a chance for occasional sprinkles and a mud puddle or two….
How much?  $6
Where: Lake Fuckin’ Needwood!!!  Parking lot for Picnic Area #3, across the street from Lake Needwood Archery Range, on Beach Drive, south of Needwood Rd.
(you can search for “Lake Needwood Archery Range” and find it). It is NOT the parking lot closest to the boat rentals, but the parking lot closer to Needwood Rd, between Picnic Area #3 and the Archery Range.
From DC Beltway (cumming from the East): North on Georgia Ave/MD-97N for 7.3 miles; Left at light on Norbeck Rd.; quick right on Muncaster Mill Rd/MD-115W;
After 2.9 miles, left on Needwood Rd; go 0.5 miles and turn left on Beach Drive. After 0.3 miles, you will see the archery range on the left, and the parking lot for Picnic Area 3 is on the right.  Park and Hash
From NoVa or western MoCo: I-270 North from the Beltway; From the far right lane, take Exit 8 for Redland Blvd toward Shady Grove Road; Keep right at fork, and follow signs for Redland Blvd.; Continue on Redland Road for a couple miles, and make a right on Needwood Road; After 1.6 miles (and after you see Lake Needwood on your right), right on Beach Drive. After 0.3 miles, you will see the archery range on the left, and the parking lot for Picnic Area 3 is on the right.  Park and Hash

What: Love Stinks and so does trying to find flour on a snowy day!

Friendlies: Eskimos, snow bunnies, snow doggies, snow strollers or sleds, half-minds who don’t have enough sense to come in out of the blizzard.

Public Transit: Red Line to Forest Glen. Call Count Crackula if you need a lift to the house. 1 mile from FG Metro

Driving Directions: Beltway 495 to Georgia Ave toward Wheaton. At 4th light, turn right onto Dennis Ave. Proceed to light at Inwood and turn left. Follow to house on left at top of hill. Park beyond the house toward Gridley Ave.

Other Details: A to A’. Walkers and Runners trail, Paved and off road sections. Dog and stroller friendly if not too much mud.

Location: 1601 Maryland Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002 (North End of Safeway Parking Lot

Directions: 

Public Transit: Red Line to Union Station then take the X2 or the Streetcar eastbound to Maryland Ave. Or Blue/Orange/Silver to Stadium Armory and head north on 19th street.

Driving Directions: From the MD suburbs, Beltway to the BW Parkway to NY Ave. Left on Bladensburg and left on 17th street.  From Virginia, use your pocket computer.

Other Details: A to A’.  Dog and friendly. Walkers may be stroller friendly with some assistance.

On after: TBD, but probably Atlas Brew Works
