Groundhog Day Trail – DCH4 Edition 🦫❄️

Start: Third Hill Brewing (8216 Georgia Ave. Silver Spring, MD)

Hares: Spike and Big in Japan

We’re back at it again—because if you’re going to repeat a day, you might as well do it right.

Join us for the DCH4 Groundhog Day Trail, starting and ending at Third Hill Brewing, where winter miles meet history, storytelling, and just the right amount of frolic. (Seriously was this written by AI lol)

🏃 Runners Route (≈5 miles)
The runners’ trail heads out on a winding journey through the layered history of Washington, DC—from old corridors and forgotten edges to quiet, snow-dusted woods. Expect rolling terrain, a few surprises, and stretches where the city fades away and the trail takes over. It’s equal parts historical wander and winter adventure, designed to make five miles feel like a story unfolding underfoot.

🚶 Walkers Route
The walkers’ trail keeps things festive and social, exploring the history and hidden corners of Silver Spring. Along the way, you’ll encounter a few welcoming (and possibly mischievous) inn keepers who may offer cheer, warmth, and a nod to Groundhog Day traditions past and present. Less about pace, more about presence—and good company.

Both routes reunite back at Third Hill Brewing to thaw out, raise a glass, and debate the eternal question:
Did we just live this day before… or do we get to do it again next year?

Start: Takoma Park Middle School (7611 Piney Branch rd. Takoma Park, MD)

Hares: Ass Spelunker, Late Nite and possibly a mystery hare or two.

Cost: $15

What you get: 1 beer check + 11 shot checks, hashy caroling, a <2 mile walkers-only trail, and plenty of food and alcoholic beverages at the end.
Spelunker also brewed up two home brews. (Rudolphs Revenge Spiced Ale and an Oatmeal Stout.
