DCH4 Trail# 2054 – 5/4/19 @ 3pm

What:  May the Fourth Be with You Trail (even though there’s no real theme).
Location: Woodley Park Metro Station, 2700 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 (marks to grassy knoll)
Hares: Special Red with Papal Smear, Lorena Hobbit, and Deaf Lesbian
Time: Saturday May 4th at 3pm
Cost: $6

Details: Some urban shiggy, reasonable distance (~7km). Walkers and Runners split. One Beer Check, possible shot check. Mostly stroller and dog friendly, with some pavement work-arounds. Walkers trail is stroller friendly.

Directions: Woodley Park Metro Station, 2700 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008 (marks to grassy knoll). Ride a train or bus. I have no idea on parking personal vehicles.

Stevie Wunderlic, Fey LAY and Just PJ present DCH4 trail 2053, the “When I’m 64” Hash in scenic Brookeville, MD.   In honor of Fey and Stevie’s April 1955 birthdays.
 
 
Location:  Wunderlic Manor, 19421 James Creek Court, Brookeville, MD 20833

Hare Cell:  240-620-6885 Stevie
Trail notes:   Mostly wooded, stream crossings (bring dry shoes), not too long, Walkers and Runners split.   TWO BEER CHECKS.  Not Stroller friendly, leashed dogs OK on trail and at on-after.
On after at Wunderlic Manor, with food and an epic bonfire.
Hash Cash:  $9
Directions:    James Creek Court is off Gold Mine Road, which runs east-west between Georgia Ave and New Hampshire Ave in Brookeville (just north of Olney and  Route 108).  HOWEVER, the intersection of Gold Mine Road and New Hampshire Ave is closed due to bridge replacement.  If using New Hampshire Ave to access Gold Mine Road (coming from the South), turn LEFT at Brooke Road, about 1 mile BEFORE Gold Mine Road.  Then turn RIGHT on Chandlee Mill Road and proceed about 1 mile to Gold Mine Road.  You will be past the detour and only one block from Stevie’s.  If you use Georgia Ave to access Gold Mine Road, you are not affected by the detour.

DCH4 Trail# 2052 – 4/20/19 @ 3pm 

What: DCH4 Trail #2052; a Joint Collaboration Trail with DCH4 and S2H3 (Strolling Stoners H3); A to A’, Runners and Walkers trails, stroller and doggie friendly; no major water crossings, but it will rain a lot Friday and Friday night, so there will be some mud–so you might want to bring a change of shoes….

**Bring cash and ID on trail for optional beer check at another brewery

There will be 2 beer checks, as well as other checks….

When: Saturday, 4/20 at 3pm

How much?  $6

Where: Chuck Brown Memorial; 2901 20th St., NE, DC

The memorial is just west of 20th St, NE, between Hamlin and Franklin Streets, and a couple blocks south of Rhode Island Ave.

It is 1.1 miles from both the Rhode Island Ave and Brookland-CU Metro stations.

DCH4 Trail# 2050 – 4/6/19 @ 3pm

Ok all you wankers! Want a fun filled afternoon with amazing people and good beer on a nice sunny 70 deg day? Then, DCH4 is the place to be this Sat.
 

Start: Rosemary Hill Local Park (2450 Lyttonsville Rd. Silver Spring, MD). Park near Tennis and Basketball courts.

Time: 4/6/19 @ 3pm

Hares: Ass Spelunker and Late Nite Drive Thru
Cost: $6
Details: Trail will be A-A. Dog friendly, tough stroller friendly. I don’t think they’re any water crossings, but you’re Hasher’s, you should always have dry shoes and clothes on hand.
On After: Silver Branch Brewery (8401 Colesville Rd. #150, Silver Spring, MD)
On After Details: The brewery has only been open one month. They don’t have any food though (unless you count $5 all you can eat popcorn as food). However, they allow takeout. This is in Downtown Silver Spring. There’s a McDonald’s next door along with many Pizza places you can order from. There’s also outdoor seating so your furry friends can join in on the fun. And did I mention….IT’LL BE 70 DEG SAT!!!

DCH4 Trail for 3/30 – 10(?) Annual Burning of the Christmas Tree trail!

Hares: Tour duh Whore and Pay Per View (we could always use a volunteer hare, too)…

Directions:

Driving: I495 to Van Dorn Street Exit. Head South on Van Dorn Street. Take a Left of Franconia Road, Edison HS will be on your right.

Metro: Take Blue Line to Van Dorn Street. Walk, Uber or Bus to Van Dorn Street and Franconia Road (Check Fairfax Connector Bus schedules for bus 109 or 322).

Deets: We’re burning shit!! Including your Xmas trees! Food will be provided. A to B trail. Bag vehicle provided at start. There will be lots of food and beer. There will be walkers and runner trails. Trails will be dog and stroller friendly. On After is also dog friendly as long as dogs are kept outside.

DCH4 Trail Announcement 3-23-19

What: DCH4 Trail #2048; A to A’; runner and walker trails; dog-friendly but not stroller friendly

When: Saturday, March 23, 2019; 3pm

Cost: $6

Where: Start is at 10700 Columbia Pike (Rte 29; aka Colesville Road), at Burnt Mills West Special Park

From DC Beltway, cumming from the West: From I-495, take exit 30A, to merge onto US-29N/Colesville Road toward Columbia.  Go north for 1.5 miles to bottom of hill, and immediately after crossing the bridge for the Northwest Branch, with a dam to your left, turn left into the parking lot near the dam. Park and Hash. (parking is also available across the street at 10701 Columbia Pike, at Burnt Mills East Special Park) If you see the Trader Joe’s on your right, you have gone 100 yards too far.  FYI: When you cross the bridge, Colesville Rd becomes Columbia Pike—they are all Rte. 29.

Just after you see the Trader Joe’s on your left, make a right into the parking lot just before the bridge. Park and hash. (parking is also available across the street at 10701 Columbia Pike, at Burnt Mills East Special Park)

Where: Fields Rd Elementary. 1 School Dr. Gaithersburg 20878. Use your GPS. Red line to 54 bus from Rockville for carless folks.

Hares: NCLB and maybe U25

A-A’. Dog friendly trail and on in. A single trail with a short cut. Tough-stroller friendly. Front Office friendly.

What: DCH4 Trail #2045. “The Big Easy”
Wear your Mardi Gras/New Orleans finest for an A to A trail laid by one of your easiest hares 😉 Dog friendly trail and on in. A single trail with some run/walk splits. Tough-stroller friendly (will be muddy with mild shiggy in places). Given the weather forecast, everyone should bring a dry bag.

When: Saturday, March 2 at 3pm

How much? $6

Where: 8400 Briar Creek Dr, Annandale, VA. It’s a neighborhood so there’s plenty of street parking.

From the North (MoCo, etc.): Take 495 outer loop towards VA. Exit 52A (VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike). Keep right at the fork to merge onto Little River Turnpike. In about 0.25 miles, turn left onto Duncan Dr. In 1/3 mile turn right onto Holborn Ave. Follow for 0.5 mile to the intersection of Briar Creek Dr and find a place to park.

From Alexandria and points South: Take 495 inner loop north. Exit 52A (VA-236 W/Little River Turnpike) to merge onto Little River Turnpike.
